The Unknown Soldier

Inspired from a brief sequence presented in the movie “The Wall” (Pink Floyd). A tribute to soldiers who died on the battle field. It was finished January 2006. Dimensions are 18” x 24” with a depth of  2”.

La foire du bois - St-Hyacinthe

In the booth of our sculpture school, I presented 4 of my works: “High Sea Fishing, ”The covered bridge”, “The Sugar Shack”, and “The Crossing”). The show attracted more than 14,000 visitors that year. It was a good place to show my work and to do demonstrations.

The Crossing

My first original work. It is a tribute to islanders who needed to cross the St-Lawrence river to get essentials goods. My father is appearing in this picture in the front. It was finished in October 2005 . Dimensions are 18” x 24” with a depth of  2”.

Les Arts en Fête - Trois-Pistoles

The second time I shown my work in public was at Trois-Pistoles (Quebec, Canada). During 3 days, we have sculpted on site and pleased visitors who came to the celebration. I shown “The Covered Bridge” and “The Sugar Shack”. I was doing “The Crossing” at that time.

The Sugar Shack

I am particularly proud of this work. It is based on an illustration made by Edmond Massicotte. It was finished in May 2005. Dimensions are 24” x 32” with a depth of 2”. Like before and for my future works, oil paint was used.

Salon de mai - Beauport

The first time I have exposed my work in public was at the “Salon de Mai “ event in Beauport (Quebec, Canada). Many artists of different origin participated in this event. With the help of my sculpture school i was able to expose “The Covered Bridge” and “The Sugar Shack”.

The Covered Bridge

Another work full of light that I have finished in December 2004. Dimensions are 18” x 24” with a depth of 2”. Again, I used oil paint. The picture was taken before the canne was put in place (this was the only time glue was used in one of my work).

High Sea Fishing

This is my first success that i have finished in May 2004. Dimensions are 24” x 24” with a depth of 2”. This was the first time I have used colors without limitation. Traditional oil paint was used for colors. The most difficult part was to carve the ropes of the boat. No glue was used.
